![]() There are no specific serial number ranges for its use. The large Ordnance Wheel continued to be used occasionally with the S.A./E.McF., S.A./G.A.W., AND S.A./N.F.R. 188" Ordnance Wheel was stamped on the bottom of the pistol grip. Other stamps used on the stocks were the circled 'P' proof mark (with serifs) on the pistol grip, and the Ordnance Wheel with Crossed Cannons. Here is the info that I keep running into. It seems like they are all straight forward except for a very small (less than 100k) window, which of course mine falls in. The biggest item left, and the only one that I can't seem to get a real grasp on is the stock. I recently purchased a 726,XXX serial Springfield Garand that has quite a few original (or at least correctly marked replacement) parts on it.
